Co-op Services Credit Union Joins THAW Effort
to Keep Households Warm

Helps sponsor annual radiothon to be broadcast live on WWJ Newsradio 950

Livonia, MI (Jan. 18, 2005) – Co-op Services Credit Union recently announced that it will be a sponsor of the second annual 30-hour radiothon to help Michigan families keep their essential heat and lights on during the cold winter months. WWJ Newsradio 950 will hold a live broadcast from 5 a.m., Friday, January 28, to 11 a.m. Saturday, January 29, 2005 at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History in Detroit.

The broadcast is in partnership with THAW, a non-profit organization, established in 1986, to provide emergency energy assistance.

“In addition to the credit union’s radiothon sponsorship and planned $1,000 donation, we are encouraging our members and staff to participate,” said Co-op Services CEO Anthony Carnarvon.

Donations can be made by calling 866-999-THAW (8429) during broadcast
hours or by mailing a donation to THAW Fund, 1212 Griswold, Detroit, MI 48226. THAW is a 501c3 non-profit organization, and all donations are tax deductible.

“Our volunteers and members have always been extremely generous in helping others—around the world and locally. It simply demonstrates the credit union philosophy of ‘people helping people’,” added Carnarvon.

Co-op Services Credit Union has approximately 44,000 members, maintaining branch offices in Dearborn, Livonia, Walled Lake, Westland and Downriver. Members also have access to any of 23 Family Service Center shared branches located throughout Michigan.
