Community Financial Introduces Secure Chat Option on Website
Redesigned website www.cfcu.org offers more online services
Plymouth, MI – (September 13, 2004) Instant messaging no longer belongs to just AOL and MSN. Credit unions such as Community Financial, headquartered in Plymouth, Michigan, are using secure chat options to connect members and potential members directly to professional staff who respond instantly to questions about financial services.
“When we redesigned our website, we wanted it to closely match our focus of making banking easier for members and potential members,” said Roger Ballard, president and CEO of Community Financial.
The redesigned website, launched in August, also features more online applications including home mortgage loans, a deposit wizard to help members select the account that suits their needs, easy-to-use loan and savings calculators, and links to a wide variety of financial services and youth programs.
Ballard added, “It’s natural that people will shop for current rates online, but we want to make sure that we give people a reason to come back to us for all their financial needs including free Internet account access and bill pay.”
Community Financial’s secure chat option with a financial service representative is currently available during business hours. After hours, any email inquiries are answered promptly the next business day. Following each secure chat session, users can request a transcript of their online session by email and complete a short survey.
“Our membership is becoming more and more comfortable with online services, but they still want and deserve that personal touch. Having a dynamic, interactive website can help us strengthen that connection,” said Ballard.
